For the first time in history Walk-For-Wishes will be hosted in Northwest Arkansas. Not only is it the first event in Arkansas but in the mid-south region. Rewind, Walk-For-Wishes is a fundraiser extension of the Make A Wish Foundation. If you have not heard about it, I urge you to look up more at The organization grants “wishes” children diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition. It allows them and their families to escape the forever looming stresses and difficulties that the sickness burdens their families with. Some kids wish to go to Disneyland while others wish to “fly like their favorite super hero.” Some kids want to be a police officer while others wish to dance like a ballerina. Make-A-Wish tries to make those come true for as many kids as possible.

The gesture of wish granting is said to give the children hope and increase their likelihood to fight. The wish inspires them to work towards something even when the fighting gets tough. It also provides a very unique way for parents to escape. Often times family situations are reported as improved after seeing their child have a “normal” inspirational child experience.

You can be a part of helping a child’s wish come true. May 7th at the Arvest Ballpark the event will kick off at 9am and end around noon. Can't make it to the main event but still want to give?? Rush Springs Ranch is having a Walk for Wishes Benefit on April 23rd. Information can be found on the flyer below! Lewis is proud to be donating popcorn and a giveaway! We are thrilled for spring and all of the things happening in Northwest Arkansas.
